FREE Loving-kindness Audio CD-ROM, by Ven. Pannyavaro
On this CD are the Buddha's teachings on Loving-kindness. It includes the chanting of the Metta Sutta, an explanation of its practice; the basic technique and a guided Loving-kindness meditation given by Ven Pannyavaro, an Australian monk and founder of BuddhaNet.net as well as founder and resident monk at Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery, Northern NSW Australia.
Loving-kindness is a meditation practice, which brings about positive attitudinal changes as it systematically develops the quality of 'loving-acceptance'. It acts, as it were, as a form of self-psychotherapy, a way of healing the troubled mind to free it from its pain and confusion.
Among all Buddhist meditations, loving-kindness has the benefit of sweetening and changing old habituated negative patterns of mind. In this way, it overcomes all forms of ill will, self-hate and hostility towards others. So it is known as a Guardian Meditation as it protects you and others from harm.

The Third Stage of Bodhi Tree Monastery Retreat Centre Build ‘Satipatthana Lodge’ a Six-Bed Accommodation Unit.
1st and 2nd stages of the project are completed: a Multipurpose Hall, Pagoda and a 2-bedroom unit. The 3rd stage of the Retreat Complex is the building of a 6-bed room accommodation unit. This gives us the capacity to accommodate meditators for retreats in the Satipatthana Vipassana tradition of Buddhism.
The funds needed for the 6-bed accommodation unit is $AUS 168,000 plus $AUS 62,593 for an external bathroom. It can be divided into a single donation of approximately 38k for a bedroom or two donors’ offering 19k for one bedroom. The bathroom would be included in this cost.
We offer this unique opportunity for donors to make ‘merit’ by contributing towards this project, as your donation will benefit generations of meditators who come to practice Satipatthana Vipassana Meditation at Bodhi Tree.

While there is no charge, any donation or ‘dana’ is much appreciated. Contribution by the retreatants will help to cover the retreat’s cost as well as providing much-needed assistance in the building of the new retreat complex now being built at Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery.

In 2006 we acquired 95 acres (36.91 hectares) of land in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales for a Buddhist Monastery and a Community Retreat Centre. The land was in a degraded state with invasive trees and weeds. Our aim since arriving has been to restore the subtropical rainforest that originally covered this region of Australia. So in doing so we're providing the habitat for the native fauna as well. In this way Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery has becom a wildlife sanctuary as well as functioning as a Vipassana retreat centre.
With the help of volunteers and some grants, we have planted 8,000 trees since 2006. While most have been rainforest trees, we have also planted Koala food trees to give refuge to the local Koala population.
We appeal for donations towards the cost of planting 2,000 rainforest trees in the spring of 2019. As the founder and resident monk of Bodhi Tree, I'm appealing for help to cover the cost of the materials - seedlings, fertilisers, mulch, and stakes for 2,000 trees, which will be planted by volunteers in the spring of 2019.
This material will cost approximately $AUS 6,500. So any and every contribution to help us plant these trees is greatly appreciated! If we are going to help the planet to survive, we urgently need to plant more trees and invite you to join us: www.gofundme.com/bodhi-tree039s-rainforest-restoration ... Read MoreSee Less

Your Aid We Deliver - Cambodia Buddhist Library Project
I write a story below for you to imagine the size of your great work in Cambodia.
After visiting one of the Buddhist Library schools, I was about to leave and saw this small child of 8 years crying and wanting to go home during the school time. I asked Pheap to ask why it was. The child said that he has been having a terrible toothache in the past 3 days and cannot bear it anymore so was going home.
We too had a look and his cheek was swollen. We were in Takeo and our own nearest clinic was 60 km away. Then we offered the principal to take him to a private clinic and took the child to his home. We found he was living with his mom and grandma.
With the mother's permission we took him to a private clinic and got his problem solved where he had a big cavity exposing the nerve. After learning that we too were running clinics, the good dentist charged only $2.50 for the injection and waived $7.50. The cost to do a similar job was $10.
Paget, we have treated 100,000 in the Buddhist Library Dental Clinics until now, so managed to relive the pain of 100,000. Cost wise it is nearly a $1 million worth of service. This is from only our 3 dental clinics. Imagine the benefits of the water tanks and the free education provided!
